Terms & Conditions
Last updated: April 2, 2026
1. Membership Term
Membership provides access for 30 days from the date of purchase unless stated otherwise at checkout.
2. Immediate Access to Digital Service
Access to the membership begins immediately after purchase. By subscribing, you expressly request that we start providing the digital service straight away.
3. Cooling-Off and Cancellation Rights
If you are a consumer purchasing online, you may normally have a statutory cooling-off right. However, where you ask us to begin supplying the digital service immediately, and you acknowledge this at checkout, you may lose that cancellation right once access to the digital service begins.
4. Refunds
Because this is a digital membership service supplied immediately after purchase, we generally do not provide refunds or prorated refunds once access has started. This includes where you change your mind after access begins or do not use the service during the membership period. Nothing in these Terms limits any refund or remedy you may be entitled to under applicable law. We may also issue refunds at our discretion in cases such as duplicate charges, billing errors, or material service failure.
5. Renewals
Your membership renews automatically for successive 30-day periods unless cancelled before the renewal date. Renewal terms, pricing, and cancellation options shown at checkout form part of your subscription contract.
6. Cancellation
You can cancel renewal at any time before the next billing date. Cancellation stops future renewal charges but does not create a prorated refund for the current active period unless required by law.
7. Prototype / Beta Service
Living Literature is an early-stage prototype under active development. Features, interfaces, companion behavior, and availability may change over time as we improve the service. We may add, remove, test, or modify features without notice. We aim to keep the service available and useful, but uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed.
8. Service Scope
The service provides access to experimental AI-guided reading, reflection, and related tools. It is not therapy, medical care, crisis support, legal advice, or financial advice.
9. Accounts and Access
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details and for activity on your account. We may suspend or terminate access where necessary to protect the service, prevent misuse, or enforce these Terms.
Audio interactions, chat history, and account data may be stored as part of delivering the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Contact for Billing Problems
If you believe you were charged in error, charged twice, or experienced a material failure of service, contact us at support@living-literature.org.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
